  1. Hello, I am going to enter for this race. this month. Am feeling pretty nervous about it as I have not run this distance in one go before. If anyone is interested in running with me in Christchurch please leave a reply. Or alternatively I cycle as well and I hear that cycling wll also help. Really excited but nervous at the same time. So looking forward to meeting everyone, this would be one special achievement in finishing. Thanks to the race organisers, I have found the website and feedback a few months ago via emails helpful! Best wishes, Shannon.

  2. Outstanding! a 100 miler in NZ, finally! Looking forward to stepping up from the 100k distance into the real deal.

    see you in march 2012.

    cheers

  3. How does this stack up against the HURT 100 (minus the lack of jungle). I will be coming off of that in January. Trying for a 100miler every other month in 2011.

    • sorry dont know the HURT race . did you say 100 miler every other month? far out that is wild. ours will be easy for you then.
      awesome

    • Hey man, yeh I don’t know the HURT either but looking at their website we should be a dryer, cooler climate to run in and we do have some nice (relatively short) sections of flat in amongst the looong up hill and down hill sections.
      Terry.

    • Hi Michael – yes under 24hrs will be a very good time, I expect a top runner to finish in under 24 but most to come in around the 30-35hr area. You’ll see we have a nice generous cut off time of 48hrs though.

  4. date may clash with ‘Tarawera Ultra’, cost of travelling down compared with Rotorua, may depend whether travel with someone else.
