Half Marathon

The half marathon  is a great option for supporters, family,  friends and those ‘testing the waters’ of what Northburn has to offer.Northburn can be 'fun'!

The half Marathon is on Sunday the 24th March in 2019

$50 entry includes a burger at the finish! Online entries now closed. You can still enter on the day please bring $50 cash. 8am registrations open, 9am race start. Google map to the start.

The course is 3 loops just like the 100miler. Starts with the home loop 5k so you get to run passed your supporters about half an hour after starting… Then you do the kids adventure loop! (surprisingly gnarly) Back passed the start finish then out for the serious 15km of the  the wonderful ‘loop of deception’ – some good honest ups and downs, stunning canyons… you’ll love it. Then back home to glory, 21.1km done and a burger to boot.

Check out the map here

There will be water and electrolyte at the start/finish which you pass twice. if you’re fast a 750ml bottle might be enough to get you through the loop of deception but if it’s hot, a Camelbak or multiple bottles may be the order of the day.

No minimum gear.

5k and 10k night runs click here for more details.

Something for the kids on Saturday, 1pm with a 2km adventure run circuit  (along a stream, up a ridge scrambling over some rocks, back down and around a track) Parents are allowed to accompany the lit’lies, various starting times for the under 7’s, 7&8yr olds, 9&10yr olds, 11&12 year olds (twice round), then Open (for the parents who will be so jealous watching the kids go around this course!) $5 for the kids $10 for the adults… pay cash on the day. Includes a burger!!

  1. I have just entered the fun half marathon for the Northburn. I am doing it for the burger. Just one question – will there be water available on the 21km? If not, I will just take my camelback along.

    • There will be water and R-Line electrolyte at the 6k and 15k mark. If you’re quick a 750ml bottle will do you but if we get temperatures in the mid 20’s and you’re a bit more of a ‘plodder’ then the camelbak will be the order of the day! The first 6ks are a steep ‘tramp’ after that it’s great running …

  2. I just tried to enter for the 10km night run, however it tried to charge me $200. I’m guessing this is incorrect. Can you let me know when it’s been altered and I’ll try again 🙂
