The ‘fun’ events will return on the Saturday 22nd March for supporters, family, friends and those ‘testing the waters’ of what Northburn has to offer.
Starting in the morning with a gnarly wee half marathon trail run. Map below. $45 entry includes a burger at the finish! Online entries now open – $10 late fee if enter on the day. Click Here to enter. 6.30am registrations open 8am start. There will be water and electrolyte at the start/finish and also mid course… if you’re fast a 750ml bottle might be enough to get you through but at present temperatures a Camelbak or multiple bottles may be the order of the day. Oh and the first 6km is the gnarly bit – it’s straight up, and though it’s not quite like climbing up the skytower it is particularly steep. You’re most likely to be ‘tramping’ it.
Something for the kids in the early afternoon with a 1.5km adventure run circuit (along a stream, up a ridge scrambling over some rocks, back down and around a track) Parents are allowed to accompany the lit’lies, various starting times for the under 7′s, 7&8yr olds, 9&10yr olds, 11&12 year olds (twice round), 13-15yr (3 times around) olds then Open (for the parents who will be so jealous watching the kids go around this course!) $2-$5 for the kids $10 for the adults… pay cash on the day.
And into the evening we thought a night run 5k or 10k might be a good opportunity to have a taste of what fun the 100milers have right through the night (and sometimes into the next night!) $25 5k and $35 10k includes a burger at the finish! Click here to enter . Water and electrolyte available at the Start/Finish. This is a 5 k course – twice around for the 10k.
7pm registration opens 8.30pm start.

I have just entered the fun half marathon for the Northburn. I am doing it for the burger. Just one question – will there be water available on the 21km? If not, I will just take my camelback along.
Cheers
Kerry
There will be water and R-Line electrolyte at the 6k and 15k mark. If you’re quick a 750ml bottle will do you but if we get temperatures in the mid 20′s and you’re a bit more of a ‘plodder’ then the camelbak will be the order of the day! The first 6ks are a steep ‘tramp’ after that it’s great running …
I just tried to enter for the 10km night run, however it tried to charge me $200. I’m guessing this is incorrect. Can you let me know when it’s been altered and I’ll try again
