Hi, question about pacers, will they be allowed to help carry your gear, pull/push you up hill with bungee etc, if so this hardly seems a level playing field for those not doing so?? It hardly seems to fit in with the hard, individual rugged NZ ethos.

Pacers will be able to carry ‘extra gear’ that may be useful to the runner – particularly in an emergency. The runner (and the pacer) must carry their own ‘minimum gear’ as outlined at all times. No pulling or pushing will be allowed.
